All remote hosting accounts come with POP3/SMTP
service as well as web-based email. Configuring an email client such as Outlook
Express is easy and similar to the way you would configure any other email
client. You'll notice four separate tabs at the top of the Outlook
Express toolbar below (General, Servers, Connection, Security &
Advanced). The only section you really need to be concerned with here is
"Servers".
You will notice in the first two fields (below
Server Information) that you are asked for an
Incoming Mail (POP3) and
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) address. Use
"mail.tuxfiles.com" for both. In the next section (under Incoming Mail
Server) you should type in the username and password we sent you in the
welcome email and check the Save Password box. Make sure to leave
the Log On Using Secure Password Authentication
box unchecked but do check the box next to where you see
My Server Requires Authentication. Finally,
click apply.
If your looking for a more "hand-held" experience,
we also have a flash tutorial for
Outlook Express or
you are welcome to use our
